Are you looking for a reliable, affordable bait boat? If so, the Lake Reaper Bait Boat is a solid choice.
For years, the bait boat market was dominated by bigger names such as Angling Technics. While these larger brands made very good bait boats, they did cost a pretty penny. Often overlooked, the Lake Reaper bait boat offers a solid, low-cost alternative which is ideal for most fishing scenarios.
Priced from just £349.99, the Lake Reaper is a budget bait boat that packs a host of features commonly found on its more expensive counterparts. Anglers will be impressed with the long battery life and silent operation when in the water.
Lake Reaper now offers its latest version, complete with the FF918C colour fishfinder. This is a great value package at just £569.99 with free shipping.

Features of the Lake Reaper Bait Boat
- 2.4Ghz frequency ensures the Lake Reaper does not interfere with other anglers’ bait boats and fish finders.
- Range of approximately 400 meters depending on conditions.
- The batteries are included, these are 2 x 6v 5ah batteries and offer an approximate run time of 3 hours.
- Bait capacity of 1KG.
After testing the Lake Reaper in different waters, we believe this is a solid budget bait boat that will cover most fishing situations. The 1KG hopper holds more than enough bait and the ease of use ensures anyone can handle this bait boat. A dial on the handset ensures there is no accidental early bait release and speed controls ensure you can accurately place your hook bait and free offerings in the same spot time and again.

The hopper is operated by a trap door which allows you to feed your hooklink underneath, it’s a simple system which works well and is personally my preferred method of release. The build-in weed guard ensures the Lake Reaper bait boat propeller does not become tangled in weed and other objects.
There is ample lighting around the boat to ensure easy use at night, along with battery indicators and low-battery warning signals on the handset.

The boat has two easy to get at switches for the power and lights which are very bright, making the boat easy to see at night. The boat now has a digital battery indicator which shows the voltage of the batteries, making it easier to know when the batteries need charging/changing. The handset also makes a sound when its batteries are running low.
Lake Reaper Bait Boat Review
The Lake Reaper is certainly one of those products which can state “it does what it says on the tin”. It’s a budget bait boat that offers reliability and a good amount of features for its budget price tag. Although we’ve had limited usage of The Lake Reaper, we found it to be reliable, easy to use and able to cope with a range of different fishing conditions. Overall, we think this is a good budget bait boat option for most anglers.
We especially like the “chug along” feature, this allows the boat to slow to a crawl as you approach your drop point. It ensures a more precise drop of your hook bait and free offerings. It is also worth noting the Lake Reaper is now available with a fish finder, if you choose this option, the “chug along” feature will ensure a more accurate reading from the fish finder.
The hopper capacity of 1KG is more than enough for most people’s angling requirements, especially on smaller UK estate lakes where long-range fishing and mass baiting are not part of the normal approach. The Lake Reaper bait boat is also fairly nimble, we found it easy enough to control, even when the hopper was full of bait.
Overall, we think the Lake Reaper is a solid choice and excellent value for money. We give this bait boat a solid positive review and think it would suit most anglers’ needs perfectly. If you are only an occasional bait boat user and want a budget bait boat for odd trips abroad or at home, the Lake Reaper is an ideal choice.
